Financial Aid Information

If your child/student is headed to college in the Fall, it is time to fill out the FAFSA today:

  • Every college, two year, four year and specialty schools require the FAFSA
  • FAFSA = Free Application for Federal Student Aid (This document is filled out every year a student is in college)
  • Fill it out online at www.fafsa.ed.gov
  • This document will want parent & student  income and assets information
  • Call The Center for College Planning (NHHEAF)  in Concord for a free FAFSA filing appointment 1-800-525-2577x119
  • Some private colleges also require the CSS Profile found on www.collegeboard.com
  • Colleges set their own deadlines for financial aid.  For example both UNH & Plymouth State require a completed FAFSA  by March 1st

LOCAL SCHOLARSHIPS: 

DEADLINE:  January 17, 2020 - Red Sox Service Scholarship - One student from our school will be awarded $1000.00.  Go to https://www.redsoxfoundation.org/servicescholarships/ .  You can also print additional information  HERE.    

DEADLINE:  January 2020 - The Faith Hope and Love Foundation College Scholarship is now available! Open to  NH high school senior that has overcome obstacles, has integrity, is involved in the community through work or extra curricula’s, and has a passion to help others. DEADLINE:  March 30, 2020 - Annalee Thorndike Art Competition Scholarship - Please read rules carefully if you will be submitting artwork for this Scholarship - Applications available in the guidance office or at lrscholarship.org 

 

NEW HAMPSHIRE/NEW ENGLAND SCHOLARSHIPS: 

The Medallion Fund: This scholarship is to assist students who are going into a vocational or technical program that does not lead to a four-year degree. There is no application deadline; you can apply any time during the year.  Applications are available at the NH Charitable Fund web site.

Clarkson University (NY) - Clarkson now offers a $500 scholarship to any student who participates in an official undergraduate admissions visit to their Potsdam, New York, campus. Visits must be completed no later than April 15 of the senior year of high school.
